Set Your Size and Budget First, Then Explore Style

Most people open a clothing site and start with style. Then they add size. Then a price cap. By the time every filter is on, there is nothing left to look at.

Flip the order

  1. Lock your size. This is the first rule. An item in the wrong size is not an option.
  2. Lock your budget. The second rule. Nothing over it should be shown as a match.
  3. Add what you would like. Style, color, material, condition, details. These guide the order of the results.
  4. Read the tradeoffs. Look at what each item has, what it is missing and what the listing does not say.

Why the order matters

Size and budget protect you from wasting time. Style and color are where you explore. When style is treated as a rule, it closes doors. When it is treated as a preference, it opens them.

A shortcut

GoTenten works in this order by design. You tell it what you need and what you would like, mark the few must-haves, and it searches the stores you already shop and ranks what fits, so you never hit a page of zero results again.
